Admission Requirements

Introduction

St. Andrew's Theological College and Seminary welcomes all students, regardless of faith, providing that they have the academic backgrounds necessary to assure successful completion of their programs of study.

Bachelor of Sacred Theology

Candidates for the Bachelor of Sacred Theology must have Associate's degree or 60 semester credit hours (this requirement may be waived if the applicant is over 35 years old and shows aptitude for the academic work required). No previous academic work in religion is required.

Bachelor of Biblical Literature

Candidates for the Bachelor of Biblical Literature must have at least 90 semester credit hours earned from a recognized institution.

Bachelor of Theology

Candidates for the Bachelor of Theology must have at least 90 semester credit hours earned from a recognized institution, 30 of which must be in a religious discipline.

Master of Sacred Theology

Candidates for Master of Sacred Theology degrees must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution. No previous academic work in religion is required.

Master of Biblical Theology

Candidates for Master of Biblical Literature degrees must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.

Master of Theological Studies

Candidates for Master of Theological Studies must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a religious discipline from a recognized institution.

Licentiate in Anglican Theology

Candidates for the Licentiate in Anglican Theology must have a Master’s degree in a religious discipline from a recognized institution, possess ministerial experience, and intend to move from their present faith tradition to ministry in an Anglican ecclesial body.

Doctor of Theology

Candidates for the Doctor of Theology degree must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution and a Master's degree of at least 30 semester credit hours in a religious discipline.

Doctor of Sacred Theology

Candidates for the Doctor of Sacred Theology degree must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution and a Master's degree of at least 60 semester credit hours in a religious discipline.
